I thought I’d mix things up a bit today, and have a Doug related clip that doesn’t exactly feature Doug. 

You see, Doug would sometimes have other performers on his specials to balance things off. In his first special, he featured the eminent Shimada in a unique five minute segment all unto his own.

Hailing from Japan, Shimada is a legend in his own right, and the master of utilizing a never ending variety of parasols in his act. His exuberant stage presence endeared him to entertainers at the time, and he was even Liberace’s 1982 opening act at the Las Vegas Hilton.

This fast paced segment is memorable in it’s own right, and forty-six years later still makes an indelible mark on “World of Magic 75.”
