Nine Years of “The Doug Henning Project” and Julie Newmar Photo

Just wanted to drop in and mention that nine years ago today I began this website. To say it has been a joy to maintain is an understatement. Thank you all for your support over the years as it always means a lot bringing Doug’s life and work to new audiences!

Over the past couple years, it’s been more difficult finding “new” material to post with greater frequency. But, when I find some nuggets I like to get them out there.

The above photo was sent to me by Mark Willoughby from Julie Newmar’s Facebook page. As you can see, it is from a publicity photo session for “World of Magic ’75.” Of the photos I have seen from this session, this one is very much a rarity. See you next time!

    Neil,

Congratulations forthe work you’ve done. And thank you for keeping Doug’s name alive and promoting interest in him, these last nine years.

The pictire of Doug and Julie was taken on the broadcast stage in Studio #7, at Premore Studios in Culver City, December 1975. Julie is posing in the layed open cabinet for Things That Go Bump in the Night.

I’d love if she wants to publicly share her thoughts on what it was like working with him. Rehearsal space, how she felt about the difficulties of the props, his personality from her perspective, live tv, who knows what else. Michelle

Thank you Brian Lumley! I’d also love if you did a Doug memoir, if you want to. Michelle

      Dear Michelle,

I have a book coming out soon about Doug Henning’s first four main shows. It is written from my point of view as his assistant.

Send me your email address and I’ll keep you up to date with the publishing date.
