Original “Magic Show” Poster Concept Art

I recently received an email from Lon Cerel shedding some light on whatever happened to “The Magic Show’s” original concept art, as well as a previous post I had done regrading it. Just a subtle hint, it’s with Lon:

I recently stumbled upon your posting regarding David Byrd’s original artwork that was used to create The Magic Show poster. I was very fortunate to be at the right place at the right time, over 30 years ago, allowing me to purchase the artwork. It has been on prominent display in my home.

Having acquired this led to my having had many fun conversations with the artist. BTW, the two smaller photos on your site, are just close-ups of the full size artwork, which measures 23″ x 16″, before framing. I had an opportunity to mention to composer Stephen Schwartz of my acquisition, to which he stated that he would have loved to have this. Wishing you continued success…keep up the good work!

Special Thanks to Lon Cerel (www.loncerel.com)
