I came across this picture on Instagram recently, and was immediately drawn to it. The event in question was when Doug and Dai Vernon appeared together at the SAM 1978 Convention in New York City. 

A few photos of this momentous event can usually be found online. However,  this negative only outtake is not one of them. Whatever Vernon was saying in the moment, Doug was certainly rapt in attention and respect for his old teacher. 

There’s certainly nothing “negative” about today’s post that’s for sure!
