Houdini NYC House Interior: Part Three

There are some things of note in today’s post worth mentioning. The first photo is the top floor skylight which is original, and isn’t seen all that often. How beautiful and ornate is this?

The last photo is a little fuzzy, but a fascinating fun fact of Houdini history. This is the steel sidewalk pull up entrance to Houdini’s basement. It was here that he would load and unload equipment that had to come back or leave the home for tours and places unknown. It’s nice to know that so many of the original fixtures still exist in this truly wondrous place over 90 years later!

Special Thanks to John Cox of “Wild About Harry,”and the owners of the house for their hospitality.

Please Note that the Houdini house is not open to the general public for tours. The owners of the home have nicely requested that fans do not show up unannounced.
