The above vintage photo features Doug’s touring “World of Magic” stage show at the, you guessed correctly, “Pantages” theater in Hollywood, CA. However, what specific year this is is a mystery to me. Doug played there a couple times in the early 1980s in a “Best Of” show which highlighted his most famous illusions up to that point.
It’s interesting to note that the marquee of the Pantages has changed very little in the forty or so years since this picture was taken. Though unfortunately you can’t really say that for the neighborhood surrounding it.
