However, what makes today’s post extra special is that this is the full segment with the Johnny interview that followed. Doug was there to promote “World of Magic IV,” and regales the audience with tales of famed 19th century magician Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin. Not a normal late night chat if you ask me. 

Thirty-eight years later, the clip still reminds us of how different and thrilling late night television had the power to be. Ahhhh, memories.
