Today’s post is dedicated an unsung hero in the history of “The Magic Show.” When the time came for the production to tour, it was obvious to everyone that Doug wasn’t going to be the one to do it. Enter touring understudy extraordinaire, Peter DePaula.
While a tour of Australia never panned out, DePaula (handpicked by Doug himself) would eventually take the show all over the United States. As these pictures show, “The Magic Show” set up stakes in Cleveland, Washington D.C., and, of course, the most magical land of all Los Angeles!
So, take a moment and peruse these items highlighting a version of “The Magic Show” that may seem familiar, but is a wonder all unto itself!
The very first Broadway show I ever saw was The Magic Show with Peter DePaula at The Forest Theater in Philadelphia!
