I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that today is the 25th anniversary of Doug’s passing. Doug doesn’t need me to sing his praises. But, it goes without saying that this thing called “magic” may have been very different today if Doug Henning never walked this Earth. However, Doug did walk this Earth, and in a way it’s up to all of us to keep his message and artistry alive to pass it on as best we can.
They say when people die that as long as we remember them, they’re not really gone. Fortunately, we have a lot of material out there to remember him and his work. For that we can all be grateful. I know I am.

Doug is gone but no forgotten.

In 1984, about, I was working with MIU Video crew. Doug and Debbie were to perform a show for MIU staff and students. At the theater in the old Student Union, our crew recorded the master of their show on a consumer 1/2” video tape-VHS, which is what Doug preferred for later viewing on his home system. We transported a ton of video equipment to that small theater. Doug and Debbie were absolutely the kindest, most professional show-people for that event. I even garnered two autographs from the couple for my folks back home. Their show was spectacular.
