It goes without saying that 75 years ago today, Douglas James Henning was born, and the world was never quite the same. Happy Birthday Doug, wherever you are! You were, and continue to be an inspiration to your fans around the world, and the arts as a whole!
In past years, I always make mention of Doug’s birthday, and rather than it just going by unnoticed, this year is a bit different. The Society of American Magicians President Tom Gentile will be hosting a 6- hour Zoom broadcast this Saturday in honor of Doug’s special day. Doug collector extraordinaire, Chip Romero, will be the featured guest for this event, and will be fielding questions as well. It’s sure to be a great day filled with memories, clips, and hopefully Chip’s astounding collection.
