Today, May 1st, marks four years of doing “The Doug Henning Project.” When I began this website I didn’t really know what to expect, or how it would be received. It goes without saying that its reception exceeded all my wildest expectations, and it has been my pleasure to write and produce posts for you since 2017.
The kindness and generosity of the magic community and Doug fans as a whole are what keeps this website, and Doug’s memory, alive and thriving well into the 21st century. So, I sincerely thank you all for that!
Let me end with an excerpt from my very first post where I set up the mission and purpose of the site. I feel it still sums things up nicely:
“Enter “The Doug Henning Project.” This ongoing blog intends to bring Doug Henning to the masses once again…this will be an active forum where a greater understanding and appreciation for the work of Doug Henning will be found.
Doug himself was very fond of using the word “wonder.” He used it repeatedly to not only describe the magic in his act, but life itself. So, using that concept as a springboard, “The Doug Henning Project” will be the place where:

Thank you Neil for your efforts and the success we all enjoy. I can tell those search engines are finding Doug’s legacy. Type my name for example and plenty of the blog’s post show up especially under images.
My kids know Monday is Doug’s birthday. I will send you a few pictures next week of my new Doug Henning museum that I finally put together in my home simply for me to enjoy.

Doug Henning was a genuine spirit of the magical profession. He truly believed in magic and helped those around him see it too. He was a genuine innovator of the art.
