In the early 90s, Doug ran for office under the TM influenced “Natural Law Party” in the United Kingdom and Canada. While he was the victor in all things magic, sadly his political career was not to be and he lost both elections. 

While this phase in his career confused Doug’s many fans, it really was the perfect example of Doug following his own path and life’s journey. His gradual retirement from magic also allowed him to be always frozen in time in our mind’s eye. It’s a magical feat which can’t be said for most magicians.
