“The Magic Show” gets a quick, but nice shout out in this new online article from Playbill.com. The article features cast albums that notoriously aren’t on steaming and other online platforms. It’s a nice mention as you can see below:

WHERE MAGIC AND WONDER LIVE!

The Magic Show soundtrack may not be available to stream, but I found it on eBay as an LP and have transferred it to digital and listen often. My earliest interest in magic came from the Tony Curtis portrayal of Houdini, but my career in magic was influenced most by meeting Doug Henning at Spellbound in Toronto. I was up on stage as a 12 year old for Metamorphosis and met him back stage after the show,(still have his signed program). Within a few weeks I had built my own trunk and it was featured in my stage show for years. I never saw The Magic Show on Broadway, but was lucky to be there for a night of filming in Toronto for the movie version. The original sound track is much better, I think, than the songs from the movie version. Missing from the movie is West End Avenue which is one of my favorite songs.
Thanks for all your work on this website. I love catching up on stories from Doug’s life that I hadn’t known about.
