50 Years of “The Magic Show”

I’d be very remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that today, May 28th, is the fiftieth anniversary of the premiere of “The Magic Show.”

This little Broadway show that could, has a long and storied history. It’s a story of Doug Henning’s dream to bring modern magic to the masses, and in the process changing the art form forever.

I’d go so far as to say if it wasn’t for “The Magic Show,” Broadway itself may have never been the same. Already in a slump, “The Magic Show” brought excitement, business, and familes to the Great White Way.

I posted the program credits page today to just give you a small sampling of the many people that brought Doug’s vision to life. Some are still with us, and some are not. However, the memory of what they accomplished is forever.

Hey can’t you just feel that strange excitement? I sure can.
